A Texas high school teacher has been accused of engaging in an improper sexual "relationship" with a 17-year-old student, police and school officials say.
Sarah Madden Fowlkes was arrested on March 20 on a felony charge and was suspended from her teaching position at Lockwood High School, the school district said in a press release.

A warrant was issued for Fowlkes' arrest on Monday and authorities said she turned herself in.
Lockhart Independent School District suspended Fowlkes and notified the State Board for Educator Certification of her behavior.
